Sizing artwork above a bed
Above-bed placement has a clear rule of thumb: the artwork should span roughly two-thirds the width of the bed, with the bottom edge sitting about 15 to 25 cm above the headboard. For a queen bed that points to a 24x36 canvas. For a king, either a 36x48 or two 24x36 canvases hung as a pair.
Bedrooms are also the room where surface finish matters most. Bedside lamps sit low and throw light upward at exactly the angle that produces glare on a glossy print. Canvas is matte by nature, so it stays readable from the bed rather than turning into a reflective panel.
On subject matter, bedrooms tend to suit calmer images — landscapes, abstracts, a single portrait — better than busy, high-contrast compositions.
Hand-stretched in Quebec
Tensioned by hand over kiln-dried solid wood so the surface stays flat for years.
Matte, glare-free surface
No glass and no gloss, so the image stays readable under lamps and daylight alike.

Placement guide
- Queen bed
- A single 24x36 centred on the headboard, or two 16x20 canvases side by side.
- King bed
- A 36x48, or a pair of 24x36 canvases with about 10 cm between them.
- Hanging height
- Bottom edge 15–25 cm above the headboard, so the piece reads as connected to the bed.
Frequently asked questions
Will a canvas reflect light from bedside lamps?
No. Our canvas has a matte finish with no glass or acrylic glazing, so it does not produce glare.
Is canvas heavy enough to worry about above a bed?
A 24x36 canvas weighs under 2 kg. Use the supplied hardware into a stud or a drywall anchor and it is secure.
Do you offer a set of matching canvases?
Yes. Order them together and we print them in the same run so the tones match.
Does canvas fade in a sunny bedroom?
Our UVgel ink carries a 30-year fade guarantee under normal indoor light, including rooms with direct sun.
